Abrahm's engagement story

Dear Friends and Family, 

I'm finally getting around to writing about Abrams engagement story! The wedding will be held September 21st at our house. His fiancée is Alyvia Croxford. We could not be more excited! We love her so much and feel lucky to officially welcome her to the family. I will post the details of the engagement below these super cute pictures.






Abrahm and Alyvia picked out the ring together. The ring was not supposed to be done being sized until Wednesday July 3rd. Abrahm and Alyvia decided to go and surprise Abby in Jackson Hole on Tuesday. The ring got done early, and Abrahm enlisted his sister-in-law McKenzie to pick it up and bring it to Blackfoot for him. (Thank you Kenzie!) Alyiva's parents were in on the plan and they told her that they would pick up the ring for her while she was in Jackson. 

Abrahm could not call Abby and tell her that he was going to propose to Alyvia because their visit was a surprise. Abrahm decided to write a note to give to Abby. The note would fill her in on the engagement plan. 

Unfortunately, Abby did not get the message. He put the note in a box of her things, which she quickly deposited on her bed and did not look at again. What followed was a hilarious string of events where Abrahm kept trying to get Abby to catch on. He tried to get her to look at her phone to no avail, and ended up pretending that he left his wallet in the room so he could talk to Abby alone. Then he really DID leave the wallet in the room! Alyiva was so confused when he came to the car without the wallet.

They went downtown to do some shopping they went to the candy store. Abrahm had Alyvia pick out a ring pop. Later in the day, they went for a ride on the tram up the mountainside. Abby had Abrahm and Alyvia pose for a picture. Abrahm pulled the ring pop out of his pocket and pretended to propose. Alyvia was going along with his "funny joke," and put the ring pop on her finger. He then asked her, "Wait, is that the wrong ring?"  She looked confused and then shocked as he suddenly grabbed the ring pop from her and chucked it off the mountain! Alyvia was a little upset. Her response was, "Hey, I did not even get to taste that!" He then reassured her by saying, "Don't worry, get you a better one!" He then pulled the ring out of his pocket that he was not supposed to have.

He then got down on one knee and asked her to marry him! I'm sure he said some really mushy stuff. The point is, SHE SAID YES!!

We are so excited to have her in the family. The wedding will be September 21st at 7 PM. 9PM. It will be in our backyard. If you would like to come, and did not get an invite, please message me! Come celebrate with us!

Dear family, I am sorry for the lack of updates lately. I have been struggling! It's difficult for me to find a window of time where I am both physically and intellectually put together enough to make a post!  We are excited for Abrahm's wedding this Saturday, and are hoping for good weather, since they would like to hold the wedding here. Abby has excitedley moved to Rexburg to begin classes at BYUI. Hannah got a part in Finding Nemo, Jr. and is busy with dance team.Gideon is doing Driver's Ed and Marching Band. Winter Adventures

Dear Friends and Family, It has been a LONG few weeks! I apologize for the lack of updates.  Here are the highlights and adventures from the last few weeks:  Emilie's cold and cough: I started coughing at the beginning of January. I have been on two different antibiotics trying to kick it. It has been a rough full body cough, and combined with chemo I have been feeling pretty rough. Just finishing a two week round of Augmentin. I am finally noticing it letting up! I lost my voice for over a week. It still sounds like I am a heavy smoker. I miss my voice!  Brandon's Recital: Brandon did an amazing job at his Senior Recital. It was awe inspiring and I can not tell you how impressed I was at his hard work. I tried to upload a snippet but it is not cooperating. I will keep working on it! We got to bring some refreshments for the reception afterword. It turned out to be a really fun night. A quick update

Dear friends and family This is just a quick update from my last doctor's visit on Monday. We met with Dr. Hale. He showed us that the numbers were going up and that my last scan showed an increase in the number of granulomas in my lungs. He explained that our current regimen of chemo had lost its effectiveness. Basically, the cancer has begun to outsmart my current chemo. We will change to a new kind of chemo. It's nickname is Reggo. We will start this new regimen as soon as the insurance is authorized. The good news: [1] I don't have to go get an infusion every two weeks. The new chemo is simply a pill. [2] This new chemo can cross the blood brain barrier. This means that has a chance and working on my tumor in my brain. The Braftovi was unable to do that. [3] The side effects of the Reggo did not seem too bad. He said it can cause a rash and it can effect my bowels. The bad news: [1] Like the Braftovi, the Reggo has a chance of losing its effectiveness quite quickly. [2]...
