Sugery this week!

Image
Dear family and friends,  (My happy place this week! We made it to the temple to do baptisms!  So happy to be in the temple with  my favorite people. Mary and Dennis came too, but did not make it in the picture. Abby was working but we hope to take her next time!) We have decided to have surgery this week. It is scheduled for Friday, April 5th. We will remove the tumor from my brain. We fasted and prayed and have decided that even though the surgery is not without risk, we are willing to try. We feel peaceful and grateful for the opportunity. The backstory: The pathology from the brain biopsy came back with news of an active tumor. We met with our oncologists from Huntsman, and they referred me to Dr. Menacho, a neurosurgeon from the University of Utah. Happy Easter!

Dear Family and Friends,  Happy Easter! Today is my very favorite day of the whole year. I love everything about Easter! I love the traditions, the Easter candy (yum), Easter songs , and the significance of this special day. I was able to sing my favorite song today in Sacrament meeting (He is Risen) without coughing! A small Easter miracle! After Brent passed away, I will never forget ---a sweet friend made  me a little pot of wheat berries with a empty stone rolled away. The message was so simple, 'He is Risen." That is all she wrote on the card. I remember how peace and grattitude filled my heart.  This year, I feel the same peace and grattitude as a ponder on the victory won by my Savior Jesus Christ. I am more aware of all my Savior did to complete his mission on earth. My heart is full to overflowing. I feel his strength every day. I am so grateful for my Savior! Happy Easter! HE is RISEN!!! May you feel His love as I have today, and every day. Love,  Emi...

Hello family and friends!  * Disclaimer: I wrote this while I was at the hospital on my phone using Talk to text. I’m sure there is some weird wording in here. I Accidentally deleted the post two times. I did cry a little bit. I lost  a couple hours of work! 😭Hopefully it will come across and make sense. I sure love you! I’m excited to share God’s goodness in my journey the last few weeks.  It's been a rough four weeks since we returned from Mexico.    We had chemo the next day after we returned! The doc recommended We decided to wean off the steroids because I was having crazy side effects. I was not sleeping, eating too much, and feeling kind of crazy. We weaned off steroids for the next two weeks.  After I went off the steroids, I started to lose mobility quickly. I went from a cane , to crutches, to a European cane, to a walker, and I've just got a wheelchair. (Tender mercy; each of these mobility aids showed up JUST when I needed them! people gathered ...
